After 20 years we’ve treated ourselves to something new…

Jardín de Aridane - Wolfgang und Michèle After sprucing up our accommodation and pool terrace last summer to mark our 20th anniversary, it was time to refresh our online presence. A professional photographer has taken new photos of the accommodation, pool terrace and garden. We now also have short videos for you to watch on YouTube. Visit our channel →

Jardín de Aridane - HomepageTogether with our web developer from Hagen, we’ve also updated our website and created a separate page for each accommodation, which we’re promoting individually too. This will give you a good idea of what our place looks like before you book.

Our digital guest guide is another new addition. From now on, you’ll receive your personal link with your booking confirmation. The guide contains useful information for your stay and lets you start looking forward to La Palma before you arrive.

And because we want your holiday to begin as smoothly as possible, we’ve also simplified guest registration: around two weeks before your arrival, you’ll receive a link to a registration form. You can fill in the required details at your leisure, so there’s no need to complete a paper form on the day you arrive.

Yanes RentACarThere’s news on car hire too. Until now, we’ve worked almost exclusively with Monta. We’re now adding Yanes as another partner. Yanes offers cars with a little more power than Monta and, for example, hires out the Hyundai i20 at a very attractive rate that even includes fully comprehensive insurance with NO excess.

Now we’re looking forward to the coming high season – and perhaps to seeing you again soon. Will we see you on La Palma?
Your hosts Michèle and Wolfgang

A more comfortable wait for the guagua

Anyone travelling around La Palma by bus will appreciate a shady spot or shelter from wind and rain. Ten stops across five municipalities now have new covered bus shelters. The Cabildo has invested just over €66,000 in these shelters.
Bushaltestellen auf La PalmaThis is a welcome improvement, particularly for older people, schoolchildren and passengers who regularly travel by guagua – the local name for the bus. When the bus takes a little longer to arrive, a sheltered place makes the wait more pleasant. The new shelters are part of the ongoing improvements to the island’s public transport. Alongside routes and timetables, the small details at the bus stop matter too.

The Marcos y Cordero walking trail is fully open again

Wanderweg Marcos y CorderoGood news for walking enthusiasts: following extensive work to improve safety, the PR-LP 06 Marcos y Cordero trail is once again open along its entire length, from the springs to the Los Tilos visitor centre. Around €730,000 was allocated to the work. Reopening does not make the route any easier, however: some sections are demanding and carry risks. Anyone wishing to walk it needs suitable equipment, particularly a helmet and lighting, as well as sufficient hiking experience. Before setting out, please check the current access conditions and safety advice at senderosdelapalma.es.

By kayak to the Cueva Bonita

Mit dem Kajak zur Cueva BonitaThis trip starts at Porís de Candelaria in Tijarafe. Here, small fishermen’s houses sit sheltered inside an enormous cave right by the sea – the starting point alone is well worth a visit. From here, you’ll paddle along the cliffs to the Cueva Bonita, which can only be reached from the sea. If conditions allow, your guide will also take you inside the cave. Depending on sea conditions, you may discover hidden coves and natural rock pools along the way. Afterwards, you’ll paddle back to Porís de Candelaria.
