La Palma - Beautiful Island - The Pearl in the Atlantic

An island with various names, and some have their own special designation for it.
I recently read "Island of Bliss" or also Island of My Dreams. Its full and official name, La Isla de San Miguel de la Palma, is rarely heard.
A small island that has its own charm and is very diverse.
Starting with the different landscapes.
The green north, the Caldera de Taburiente, the Roque de Muchachos at 2,426 m; here you are above the clouds. The backdrop of the observatory makes the impression almost surreal at times.
Down in the south - black, hot earth; one almost thinks they can still feel the warmth of the volcano Teneguia, which last erupted in 1971. In contrast, at the southern tip are the salt gardens of the Salinas Marinas de Fuencaliente with the "white gold of the sea," the small salt piles arranged very close to the sea.
The black beaches, where the rolling waves paint their own images and structures with their spray like white fingers. In the evening, you can occasionally observe "wave riders" riding the rolling waves. And then when it gets dark, enjoying the sunset with a glass of delicious Canarian wine and a tasty meal. This spectrum of colors, these structures, each one is unique and beautiful.
The villages and towns also have many colors. The colorful villages are wonderful contrasts in this landscape. Each of the two large cities on the island has its own charm. Santa Cruz with its old palazzos and wooden balconies on the Avenida de Maritima - an art-historical monument. Los Llanos de Aridane with the Plaza de España and "La Ciudad en el Museo" - the magnificent murals by various artists and seemingly endless little streets to stroll and marvel. Not to forget the flora and fauna of the island, and, and, and……….
All of this and more I have tried to capture with my camera during my vacation time over the last 6 years. I am an amateur photographer and have a page with my pictures under the pseudonym nobodyno at fotocommunity.de. Among other things, there is also a very extensive folder of La Palma. A picture gallery of the Isla Bonita, as I see the island from my perspective. One or another motif keeps appearing, which allows you to recognize the places I particularly like.
Some of these pictures are hanging in large format here in my apartment - and sometimes I dream myself away to the Isla Bonita while looking at them.

The Island of La Palma
La Palma is one of the smallest islands of the Canary Islands. The island has a total area of about 730 square kilometers. Since La Palma has many steep coasts, it does not necessarily look like a bathing island. There are many beautiful beaches on this island that invite you to swim. The sand is black, as it is a volcanic island. Nature lovers will be thrilled, as there is not only black sand but also a lot of green. The highest mountain on this island is the Roque de los Muchachos. On the island, you have the opportunity to rent a holiday home La Palma for the whole family. A holiday home is easy to find here, as there are many offers.
Leisure Activities and Attractions
A major attraction for tourists is the Caldera de Taburiente. It is a huge crater that has a depth of 2000 meters. This national park has developed a remarkable and unique flora over the years. Belmaco in Mazo is the archaeological park of this island. Here you can trace the history of the indigenous people. The Botanical Garden of La Palma is also a popular excursion destination. In this garden, there are about 2000 plant species that have been able to flourish wonderfully due to the subtropical climate. The island has a beautiful bird park, which was founded in 1997. Additionally, there is an observatory that offers a wonderful view of the stars on clear nights.

On La Palma, beautiful holiday homes are offered, which are particularly suitable for families. Depending on your taste, they come with a swimming pool and many other amenities.
